Everyone knows that - life? It's all about choices, and chance, and balance. Choice: Should I stay up and watch one more episode of that new show instead of going to bed on time? Choice: Should I grab something on the way home or do I have time to make a homemade dinner after a long day? Choice: Should I stop for coffee before work or opt for the in-house-office-coffee? Choice: Should I eat the piece of cake or skip it? EAT. THE. CAKE. These are what brought me to Polo Custom Products and, in the end, the Supply Chain department. Chance: I met my now husband out of the blue, who worked for the company and invited me to apply, marking the start of my journey as a Production Technician in the sewing department. Let me just say - I had ZERO sewing experience, and even ZERO manufacturing experience. Being trained on the job is an awesome perk! As a custom manufacturer, Polo makes a wide variety of products ranging from the medical to government industry. My main responsibilities were making those products! It took me less than 2 years before I was promoted to Production Coordinator, still assisting in the production aspect but going above and beyond to continuous improvements, setting up machinery, and quality inspections, and helping to lead a team of fantastic associates. I LOVED making life-saving products, knowing that I was putting more good into the world. My time with the production-side of custom manufacturing came to an end in 2019 when the Inventory Analyst position for the Supply Chain department became available. Choice: Do I stick with what I know and am comfortable with, or do I take a leap of faith and dive into the unknown? I plunged off the cliff and landed in the raging river of Supply Chain. When I say raging river, I mean - holy pandemic, Batman! To say that I don't know what a normal Supply Chain feels like is the understatement of the year, but it prompts me to hit the ground running each day. I’ve moved up from Inventory Analyst to Senior Inventory Analyst, and now Procurement Manager, helping to oversee our three manufacturing locations inventory. This leads us to balance. Not only is it maintaining control over inventory quantities, dollars, quality materials, and striving to lead some wonderful teammates – but it’s also the real life balance of work versus home. I am a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister all on top of being a worker. Being a new working mom is the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced, but my fellow team members always have my back, always offer support, and are truly a force to be reckoned with!#PoloProud
