About Cailey McGillicuddy

I value work that promotes physical and mental health, and I strive to improve people's lives through their health. My educational background includes dual Masters degrees in public health and social work, and I love that both of these degrees enable me to recognize and work to address systems-level impacts on an individual's health and well-being. My work at Roswell Park enables me to contribute to cancer prevention and control efforts through assistance on projects related to HPV-related cancers, such as HPV vaccination uptake in young cancer survivors, and Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma. These projects benefit from my detail-oriented nature in literature searches and reviews, manuscript preparation, and data management, abstraction, and cleaning. I am proud of my contributions to scientific publications. My patient-centered approach is on display at my role on the behavioral health/care coordination team at Sheridan Medical Group, where I utilize my listening skills as I assess patients' goals and values. Through our conversations, I am able to connect patients with behavioral health and social determinant-related (e.g, transportation, food) services. I love working as part of an interprofessional team to contribute to decisions that affect patients, the organization, and the broader healthcare system. My additional experiences include development of patient education materials, presentation of psychoeducational material through oral and written communication, and direct work at the individual and group level with populations including high school students and justice-involved populations.
