About Caitlin Anable

On paper, I seem to be like everyone else: I met the education requirements and I have experience. However there are things that you cannot see on paper that say a lot more about me, like my work ethic, leadership abilities, mentoring role, and motivation to do better. I have been able to work full time and go to school full time while maintaining a 3.867 GPA (out of 4.0). In order to achieve this, I relied heavily on my ability to look at my future success, the obstacles I overcame, and my ability to motivate myself. There have been times I felt like giving up, telling myself working full time is enough but I never did because I remembered the why behind my goals. From the start of my college career to now, I have had to take a leadership role. My knowledge competencies started when I became the closing expert at McDonalds. It continued when I was the senior work study study at the career center, and passed knowledge to new peers. Now, I have the most important leadership role I have ever received. I currently serve patients as a licensed occupational therapist, educating patients on healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills. In order to be effective, I have to lead by example, motivate people to engage in treatment, utilize a therapeutic use of self, and understand the needs of the people I serve.
