About Caitlin Borst

I received my bachelors degree in history from Thomas More University, and worked on a senior thesis project on Cincinnati and abolition that later was published. During my time at Thomas More, I began a small fictional piece which was published as well. I received my masters degree from the University of Cincinnati, and specialized in southern American history. My true interests lie in plantation life, racial disparities, regionally identity in the post Civil War period, and the American Paradox. My masters thesis focused on the regional identity of Northern Kentuckians in the post Civil War period. I am currently an adjunct professor of history at Thomas More University, teaching World Civilizations and US History. I am also in my doctoral program at Liberty University working toward my Ed.D, in educational leadership. My capstone project focuses on the importance of cultural competency in higher education. I am preparing myself for the next steps in my career, working toward the administrative aspects of higher education and student success within DEI.
