About Caitlin Doherty

Our society, and the harmful extractive systems we live within, teaches us disconnection from each other, our own bodies, our experiences/emotions/needs and the land. At some point some of us question if there's a different way of relating. As a therapeutic yoga and movement instructor I hold space for people who have been left out of traditional wellness spaces, and those on unique healing journeys, to learn to reconnect with self, body and needs (especially the messy and difficult bits). All without striving or fixing because we aren't problems to be solved. I meet folks where they are by using invitational language, providing options/choices, staying curious, addressing harmful dynamics of power/hierarchy/control and using a person centered approach. I lead group and one-on-one sessions that include peer support, reflection/writing, gentle movement, yoga nidra, nature based practices, seasonal themes, somatic awareness, simple art making and mindfulness. Through these embodied practices, my hope is to support people in cultivating safeness within their own bodies, co-regulation with others and grounded authenticity. As a mentally and chronically ill small-fat neurodivergent person who is in eating disorder recovery, I hope to support folks with less shame, less violence and more compassion.
