About Caitlin Doherty

She/her) I have a passion for social justice and equity that I seek to engage with both personally and professionally. I hold a B.A in International Studies with a concentration in International Security and Conflict as well as a minor in History from Simon Fraser University. As a student, my academic work was motivated by a keen interest in gender and sexual based violence (particularly in conflict settings), alternative models to address structural oppression and violence, and feminist international policy. Professionally, my experiences in frontline and administrative positions within feminist organizations in the Vancouver area and internationally in Uganda, have fostered strong beliefs in feminist, trauma informed and client centric services and advocacy. These values, along with a passion for harm reduction, decolonial practices and continual learning are all attributes that I bring to both my work and my day to day life. Outside of the professional world, I engage in practices that foster joy and creativity such as travel, yoga, writing and connection with loved ones. I continue to seek out opportunities for learning and am an active reader with a particular passion for poetry, memoirs and travelogues.
