About Caitlin Farley

Caitlin Farley is a Medical Anthropologist focused on improving trust between patients and care teams, as well as increasing access to healthcare and health education. She specializes in CHWs, identifying community leaders and stakeholders, project management, improving clinical workflows/outcomes, cultural mediation and improving community buy-in of health-related interventions. Caitlin’s field work has included Indonesia, Singapore, Ireland, and rural/diverse refugee and immigrant communities in the USA. Her graduate research focused on immigrant/refugee navigation of foreign healthcare systems, community perspectives on trust/distrust of allopathic medicine and interactions between providers and patients. She has worked in Hospital, Community Health Center and research settings for the past decade, and has founded multiple integrative care teams and intervention initiatives in community health and clinical settings. She is an experienced member of medical ethics, IRB and CHW boards and has implemented prevention, support and community-specific education on HIV, Chronic Diseases, Vaccines, Disease Transmission, Nutrition, and Health Literacy. Her experience also includes sailing (traditional and modern) and waterway navigation, small-scale farming, archaeology (i.e. groundwater, soil, erosion), folkloric dance and outdoor large-scale infrastructure setup in urban, rural and wilderness settings.
