About Caitlin G.

With roots in healthcare and gender-based violence advocacy, my work is grounded in a deep and personal commitment to racial and gender justice. I entered this work as a survivor and as someone who experienced firsthand the challenges of being uninsured—watching the Affordable Care Act (ACA) become law from my living room floor on my first anniversary was more than symbolic; it was life-changing. Over the past decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of direct service, community-based advocacy, and systemic change. I began on the ground—building women’s empowerment programs, organizing campaigns to eliminate racism and gender-based violence, and supporting entrepreneurship among survivors. As I witnessed the limits of programmatic change, I turned to policy—applying my skills in research and data analysis to influence legislation and drive long-term solutions. My experience spans leading national advocacy campaigns, conducting research on racialized state violence against women of color, shaping comprehensive policy platforms, and advancing legislative efforts around childcare and economic justice. At the heart of it all, I’m driven by a belief in the transformative power of policy and advocacy—and by a commitment to building a more equitable future for all.
