About Caitlin McLagan

As an established veterinarian with a wide breadth of experience, I bring to my profession energy, passion, focus, and above all a desire to positively impact the lives of people and their companion animals. Particular passions of mine include teaching and mentorship of veterinarians and veterinary technicians to elevate the practice of gold-standard medicine (especially emergency and critical care), outreach and accessible medicine for marginalized communities, and cultivating mental health and wellness within the veterinary community. My style involves the practice of high-quality, accessible medicine with (wherever possible) a big smile, and plenty of laughter! I feed my passion for remote and international veterinary medicine through continued work with a variety of non-profit groups, and feel privileged to act as an ambassador for human and animal health in our communities. Following a move across the country for advanced training in emergency and critical care at the Ontario Veterinary College, I continued to work in emergency practice as well as have the opportunity to explore my passion for shelter medicine. I have recently returned home to British Columbia and am particularly interested in opportunities that integrate leadership, communication, and teaching.Veterinarians are charged with no small task- our work lies at the interface of domestic animal, wildlife, and human health, and the many jobs that we perform encompass a profession that becomes increasingly important in today's changing world. I am grateful to be a part of it.
