About Caitlin Thompson

I formerly worked for Peckham, Inc. as a Vocational Services Specialist assisting individuals to overcome personal and disability related barriers to employment. My previous work with ASPPIRE of Mid-Michigan as a group facilitator taught me good practical skills in working with and assisting individuals with disability related barriers to access in the community and social situations. I also work to educate, advocate, consult, and train on the subject of service dogs/miniature horses and assistance animals with clients and/or practitioners looking for guidance on best practice. I now own my own private practice offering psychotherapy as an LPC in East Lansing. In past employment settings, I have worked in a variety of departments within higher education. I have a passion for working with students and staff in transition that experience barriers to access employment, community experiences, or education. I believe my experiences through becoming a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor along with prior roles in Residence Life, Residence Education and Housing Services Facilities, Residential and Hospitality Services Sustainability, and Culinary Services have helped me gain a basis of knowledge critical to understanding complex operations and employment settings along with the skills and tolerance necessary to assist others in reaching their potential to be successful in vocational and personal life.
