Here’s a bit about my journey: Education: • Initial Passion: My high school Spanish teacher ignited my passion for the environment, encouraging me to explore the world and understand the impact of human actions. • Undergraduate Degree: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, which allowed me to delve into various topics related to our planet’s health and sustainability. • Master’s Degree: I later pursued a Master’s degree in Biodiversity and Conservation, deepening my understanding of our planet’s ecosystems and our impact on the environment. Previous Work Experience - Industrial: • Environmental Engineering & Regulations: My industrial experience provided essential insights into US environmental regulations, air emissions, wastewater management, and industrial engineering equipment. These fundamentals have been invaluable as I transitioned into the hospitality sector where many applicable, yet smaller, systems are utilized. • ESG Reporting: At International Paper, I honed my skills in collecting and analyzing environmental data, crucial for the company’s annual ESG report. Current Work Experience – Hospitality: • Pivoting to Hospitality: Leveraging my background, I transitioned into the hospitality space at Hilton, where my passion for sustainability aligns with the Hilton mission. • LightStay Leadership: As an ESG Manager at Hilton, I oversee LightStay, a data management platform driving our sustainability initiatives.
