About Caitlyn Skeith

Having grown up in multiple countries with very different cultures, I have a unique view on the world that would be an asset to any workplace. I’ve always had a passion for biology, the study of living organisms, and in 2016, I graduated with a B.Sc. Honours Biology degree. In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to hold various positions as a research assistant where I have developed a solid background in microbiology techniques Currently, I am a student in my final year of the Biotechnology – Advanced program at Fleming College and love it. I have always been interested in DNA and the science behind it, and this program has cemented that love. For example, during my studies I’ve developed strong lab skills in the areas of molecular biology and DNA applications. I’ve performed DNA extractions, PCR analysis and run gel electrophoresis to name a few. The program has also trained me in the areas of QA/QC and data management using Excel/Access, which are critical components to a quality research lab. My goal is to work in the medical or research fields and contribute to projects that positively impact the lives of people in Canada and around the world.
