About Cale Passmore

Cale Passmore is a knowledge worker and accomplice who has worked for liberation and equity locally and internationally for over 15 years. Currently, they are Special Projects and Development Lead at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies and an independent consultant operating out of Treaty 6 land. A mostly white, non-binary knowledge worker in Human-Computer Interaction, Applied Computing, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Mixed-Methods Research, and Community Building, Cale’s nearly two decades of interdisciplinary work (across fields of English, Critical and Cultural Theory, Psychology, Philosophy, Research Methods, Technology, and Governance) is matched by his grassroots labor. Having co-led educational series, policy reform, program development, and communities around anti-oppression, spanning racism, genderism, ableism, classism, cultural hegemony, and critical solidarity. Their research has focused on culturally rooted ethics and knowledge gathering; the roles of digital technologies in promoting and inhibiting pluralistic models of identity, health, and play; food sovereignty and stewardship; intersectional, intergenerational health; and phenomenology. Cale's greatest understandings and debts are owed to those past and present who—with incredible patience, trust, and transparency—share their lives and teachings with them.
