About Caleb Coulthard

As a Process Safety Engineer at Fauske & Associates, I specialize in lithium-ion battery testing focused on understanding thermal behavior, failure mechanisms, and overall system safety. My work involves developing and performing abuse, thermal, and performance tests to support clients in improving the safety and reliability of their energy storage technologies. This role allows me to combine hands-on experimentation with analytical problem-solving, contributing directly to safer and more efficient battery systems.I graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2025 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Business Administration. During my time at Iowa, I strengthened my technical background and leadership skills through roles such as Teaching Assistant for Intro to Engineering Computing and Engineering Problem Solving. My involvement as Social Chair for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and as an active member of Omega Chi Epsilon Chemical Engineering Honor Society helped refine my communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities. Before transitioning into my full-time role, I gained foundational experience as a Nuclear Process Safety Intern at Fauske & Associates in Summer 2024, where I connected with industry professionals and built a strong understanding of process safety principles.I’m passionate about advancing chemical process safety, optimizing engineering processes, and supporting innovation in energy and battery technologies. I’m always open to discussing engineering, career development, and collaborative opportunities—let’s connect and explore how we can drive safer, more resilient systems together.
