About Caleb Curtiss

As a poetry faculty advisor at Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA), I have the privilege of teaching and mentoring emerging and established writers in the low-residency MFA in Writing program. With over a decade of experience as an educator, I bring a methodical, responsive, and creative approach to teaching poetry, composition, and literature at various levels and settings. I also teach in the Composition program at the University of Delaware (UD), where I help students develop their critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. Besides my teaching role, I am also a published poet, editor, and event programmer. My debut poetry collection, Age of Forgiveness, explores the themes of trauma, loss, and recovery through lyrical and visual forms. As an editor, I offer copy editing and consultation services to authors and organizations, helping them refine their voice and style. As the founding director of the Pygmalion Literary Festival, I led the growth and development of a premier community-based literary event, overseeing all aspects of planning, booking, marketing, guest outreach, and fundraising. My mission is to foster a culture of reading, writing, and learning that enriches the lives of individuals and communities.
