I am currently an ACCA Trainee Accountant at BDO Port Elizabeth, working in the International Offshore Centre department. I graduated with a BCom General Accounting degree from Nelson Mandela University. I am hoping to gain valuable experience and increase my knowledge in a practical environment. I am confident I can contribute positively using the skills and competencies I have acquired.My love for accounting began in high school, the problem-solving aspect especially drove my passion beyond just number crunching. I love facing new challenges and finding innovative ways to solve them and this what accounting offers me. I believe in always being open minded and adapting to change while being guided by core principles.I am committed to meeting my professional responsibilities with the utmost care and diligence to add value to my employer. I have gained a good grasp of accounting principles through my studies and part-time bookkeeping work. Good listening ability and absorption of information are skills which enable me to perform tasks with great attention to detail. My experience in tutoring high school students during my studies has given me good communication skills. Integrity, respect and humility are some of my core values. I strive to always show compassion and empathy for others. I believe in seeing things from multiple perspectives especially when resolving conflict.My hobbies and interests include reading, writing, drawing and music. My appreciation for art and creativity allows me to think outside of the box.
