I’ve always wanted to be a great guitarist. It was never the fame (despite the temptation), but the moment when you know you made a good song sound great! It’s pure joy. I have played in many bands and I’ve discovered the most important thing about songs. Everyone plays a key role, and I love that. I’ve since traded in my 6-string for a new gig. And my instruments of choice, Finance. And how I love that almost all of business involves finance. My drive is fuelled by connecting the complex world of finance with business strategy and operations through genuine uplifting people engagements. I have partnered with over 100 senior executive and business managers in medium to large organisations and together we have successfully acquired businesses, started new business ventures, launched new products, created new investments, increased productivity and profits and created and nurtured enviable people cultures. I have managed several business departments and my involvement has rewarded me with experience in sales, IT, marketing, investments, compliance, risk and HR from daily operations through to board level. Some of my personal successes include an investment programme that generated a return of $800k in its first year, a tax restructuring with savings of $5m, designing a group global cost recovery system, compiling and presenting numerous training courses and have been master of ceremonies at numerous events. I enjoy connecting strategy with customers and people with strategy. This is me: It’s not about me, it’s about the strategy and the team first. If I help to get that right, together we can achieve so much.
