Passionate about the future of transportation, I am committed to reshaping how people and goods move through our communities. With a solid foundation in finance from Point Loma Nazarene University and advanced studies at the University of Southern California in Urban Planning and Public Policy, I am driven by a desire to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and equity of transportation systems. My academic journey, concentrated on passenger transportation, freight transportation, active transportation, and global supply chains, is coupled with hands-on experience in research and policy analysis, fueling my ambition to contribute meaningfully to the field. My work as a Research Assistant Intern at Alianza Coachella Valley has allowed me to delve deep into the transportation needs of underrepresented communities. Analyzing General Plans for consistency and alignment, I focused on how transportation policies could better serve disinvested communities around the Salton Sea. I collaborated with stakeholders to identify gaps and prioritize projects in key areas such as active transportation, public transit, and goods movement. This role honed my ability to translate complex planning documents into actionable recommendations that resonate with community needs. At USC’s METRANS Transportation Consortium, I explored the intricate relationship between the rise of e-commerce and the geographic distribution of warehouse and distribution facilities. Utilizing GIS tools and statistical modeling, I mapped and analyzed the spatial trends of these facilities across California. This experience deepened my understanding of how freight transportation and logistics impact regional development and environmental justice, further solidifying my commitment to this critical aspect of transportation planning. My academic and professional experiences are complemented by strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel, beginner-level Python, and GIS. I have a proven track record of conducting comprehensive research, from evaluating electric vehicle policies to examining the effects of sea level rise on port cities. As I work towards my dual Master’s degrees, I am eager to continue developing solutions that address the evolving challenges of transportation, with a particular focus on freight movement and its broader implications on society.
