About Caleb Simmonds

Competency is key. No matter what I am doing, I know it is worth it as long as I can do it competently. I love thinking logically to work through problems and achieve end goals, allowing me to fulfil my goal of competency. While learning may only sometimes be the most fun, like when assignments roll around, without it, I cannot progress, and that's why I have chosen to study a dual degree of a bachelor's of Law (Honours) and a Bachelor's of Business. I hope to open up opportunities in many fields where my logical thinking and analytical mind can be used to apply legal concepts successfully. My time at the Ipswich Courthouse, while mostly filing, gave me an incredible insight into how our judicial system works and the amount of effort needed to keep it running. It gave me an appreciation of the people that work tirelessly to ensure that the courts stay running; it reinforced my interest in law and confirmed that working in the legal profession was something I look forward to doing.Being a cadet at TS Ipswich has been one of if not the most meaningful experiences of my formative teenage years. Interacting with so many people of varying ages and backgrounds gave me unparalleled experience in leadership; not only did I need to work with cadets from my unit but many others I had never met before. I had to quickly learn how to deal with conflicts when inevitable disagreements happened. Being a cadet grew my social skills exponentially and provided the building blocks for me to become myself.
