About Caleb Stipkovits

Hi there, my name is Caleb Stipkovits, multimedia journalist with Apple Valley News Now (KAPP/KVEW) in Kennewick, Washington. I joined the Apple Valley staff in July of 2025 after obtaining my bachelor's degree from Seattle University. Although I enjoy reporting on all topics, my favorite things to cover include education and investigative work. I've been passionate about journalism since I was a kid, I even created my own newspaper when I was 10 (titled 'The News'). That love for news followed me to high school and college, where I served as a reporter and editor for many years. At Seattle U, I took courses in multimedia journalism, investigative journalism and communication law that taught me the ins and outs of professional journalism. Additionally, I interned with KOMO News in Seattle, which I consider the most impactful part of my journalistic education. I believe that a journalist's best skill is to be versatile. News is changing in the digital age, and as a young journalist, I hope to be an innovator. I have experience with traditional formats such as print and broadcast TV, as well as modern formats including podcasts and social media. I am always eager to learn and adapt as the news field continues to change. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, drawing, playing basketball and tennis, and spending time with my friends. I am excited to serve the Tri-Cities as a reporter and tell the stories that otherwise could not be told.
