About Caleb Umstead

I am a Florida native and earned my Bachelors of Science in Marketing and a Minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. In 1997 I enlisted in the US Air force for a tour of duty on the B-52, B-1 and B-2 Bombers at Minot Air force Base, North Dakota. After my tour of Duty in the US Air force I returned to Florida and have been working in the home medical equipment industry in Florida since 2001. I joined the family business of pharmacy and medical equipment in 2001 while attending the University of Florida. I quickly became passionate about helping people with their respiratory needs and finding ways that help people battling COPD and Emphysema maintain a certain quality of life. This passion has lead me to become a specialist in the oxygen field, specifically portable oxygen. As a portable oxygen advocate I have vast knowledge about assisting people with their oxygen needs and the available medical devices that fit those needs. After some time working with; patients, family members, pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and product manufacturers, there was a market segment that was under served. In 2010 alongside my Family and two other partners, we established 1st Class Medical Inc. A company focused on helping people with COPD and Emphysema obtain medical devices that would return the freedom and independence with portable oxygen therapy. In the past few years I have established 1st Class Medical as market leader in portable oxygen therapy and an HQAA Accredited Company. As a military Veteran myself, I set out to serve my fellow American Veterans. Spring of 2014 1st Class medical was awarded a Federal Supply Schedule through the Department of Veteran Affairs. As leader of this initiative, 1st Class Medical is serving America’s Heroes and helping them regain their mobility and Freedom that they so selflessly sacrificed for us. My goal for 2014, Is to provide veterans access to the latest in portable oxygen technology.
