About Caleb Willis

I am an currently an Associate Principal that has had a plethora of roles such as Administrative Dean, Licensed School Counselor, educational assistant, basketball coach, mentor, and counselor in the educational field working with youth from multiculturally diverse backgrounds. I graduated from Pepperdine University where I received a B.A. in Psychology and played Division 1 basketball. I received a M.A. in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School. I have a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Mankato State University. The foundation of my passion in serving youth and fostering a trusting therapeutic environment for adults as well stems from the third principle of Kwanzaa called “Ujima.” Ujima is pronounced “oo-JEE-mah,” which stands for “collective work and responsibility.” The Adlerian principle that we are to reckon ourselves with others and invest ourselves in them combined with the principle of Ujima embodies my approach to healing within the community of man that I am my brothers and sisters’ keepers. I believe together we must construct and cultivate our community not by who we are apart from one another, but who we are collectively through the enrichment of our belonging and significance. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family especially being silly and having lots of laughs with my little sisters, playing basketball, meditating on my faith and attempting to chef it up in the kitchen from time to time. I also enjoys writing poetry, watching movies, going for scenic bike rides on the Minneapolis Greenway, fishing at the lakes and finding unique restaurants to dine.
