About Caleigh Warner

I am a synthetic and materials chemist at Align Technology, where I work on developing and testing various compounds for 3D printing applications. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics, where I gained a strong foundation in both theoretical and experimental aspects of chemistry and physics. At Align Technology, I perform chemical synthesis and characterization for small molecules, oligomers, and polymers, which are used in formulations for 3D printing (SLA). I also design products for printing using SolidWorks and conduct materials characterization on cured materials, such as DMA, DSC, tensile strength, and flexural modulus. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, and biologists to optimize the performance and quality of the materials and products. Previously, I was a research assistant at UCSB Materials Department and Chemical Engineering Department, where I worked on developing organic semiconducting polymers with mixed ionic and electronic conduction, and creating thin films with semiconductive properties. I also contributed to designing a machine learning algorithm for organic mixed ionic and electronic conductors (OMIECs) and performed extensive data mining. I have multiple skills in materials science, spectroscopy, Gaussian 03, and polymer synthesis and characterization, which I apply to my current and past projects. I am passionate about advancing the field of materials chemistry and exploring new applications and innovations. I value collaboration, creativity, and curiosity, and I strive to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team.
