About Cali Crismon

I am a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) and graduate student in the professional counseling program at Ottawa University emphasizing in the treatment of trauma, abuse, and deprivation. I love addressing thinking errors and cognitive distortions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help individuals overcome negative thinking patterns and achieve mental wellness. Before diving into the world of counseling, I spent a decade in education, shaping young minds in the classroom. While teaching, I became increasingly aware of the profound impact that emotional distress and unaddressed cognitive distortions can have on a person's ability to learn, grow, and thrive. Drawing from my experiences in education, I bring a unique perspective, blending the art of teaching with the science of therapy. I love working with children, teens, and adults. I am trained in treating acute stress and trauma using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am also trained to use CAMS- Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality.
