About Calista Krass

I am an international undergraduate student from Estonia at Yale University studying chemical engineering. I am passionate about using my degree to find ways to incorporate technology into our search for novel energy solutions. I enjoy working with other driven individuals to brainstorm innovative solutions to relevant problems and finding feasible execution plans for making those projects come to life. On campus, I contribute to Yale's Chem-E-Car team. The focus of the club is to build a self-running rover that is powered entirely by chemical reactions, which will then be used to compete against other schools at a competition hosted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. I am a member of the Batista Lab at Yale University, where my work centers around researching ways to utilize carbon nanotubes for ammonia oxidation and nitrate reduction. Previously, I worked at the Jorgensen Lab in the chemistry department, where my work was centered around synthesizing potential drugs for COVID-19. Outside of academics, I greatly enjoy listening to podcasts about feminist and queer history, as well as working on personal 3D printing projects.
