I am a dedicated professional in the financial services industry, currently working as a Junior Enterprise Risk Management Officer at Curo Fund Services. My role within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team allows me to engage in a diverse range of experiences, thanks to our small and dynamic team structure.I began my career at Curo Fund Services as a Graduate Trainee in the Operations Department, where I gained a solid foundation in the industry. This experience paved the way for my transition into risk management, a field I am passionate about and continuously advancing in. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and and an Honours degree in Risk Management.In my current role, I am responsible for conducting workshops on root cause analysis, incident management, and the risk event database (BarnOwl). I facilitate risk assessment workshops and risk and control self-assessments, manage third-party risks, and review operational incidents and action plans. Additionally, I oversee weekly risk event forums in the operations departments and review risk exposure reports for root cause analysis and preventive action input.I also handle monthly and weekly reporting on incidents, key risk indicators, and expenses, fines, and losses to senior management and Exco members. My role involves reporting, facilitating and coordinating client/fund audits, and working directly with clients and their auditors to resolve queries. I build strong relationships with internal teams to collaborate effectively and increase efficiency by identifying ways to improve audit processes.My skill set includes proficiency in Excel, Power BI, MS Word, third-party risk management, risk assessments, and incident management. I am committed to leveraging these skills to contribute to the effective management of enterprise risks and to support the strategic objectives of my organization.
