About Callum Iles

I am a values-driven educator, who moved from a career in finance to education due to a desire to commit my life to improving the lives of young people. This desire has grown to focus on building high performing teams and coaching leaders to more effectively impact young people.I am passionate about evidence-based learning, innovation, wellbeing and leadership development, and how we can apply these to educate young people more effectively. I have qualifications in Management, Marketing, Property and Education, and have experience leading in numerous independent schools. I have served students and staff in the Middle and Senior School as a classroom teacher, a Head of House, Student Wellbeing Leader, and as a Head of Middle School, where I have been able to develop operational and leadership capacity in Academics, Pastoral Care and Stakeholder Relationships. My teaching is driven by an intense curiosity, continuous innovation, evidence-based pedagogy and a desire to help students to develop creative confidence. These skills helped me to build a popular Business and Innovation CoCurricular program and motivates me with my life-long desire to learn.I currently chair the board at the church I attend and have led various ministry teams over the years, and my Christian faith is the foundation and primary motivator for me as an educator and leader. Throughout my career I am looking to contribute to connected communities with compelling visions for the future, and the confidence to be able to take risks and learn from mistakes. I see the highest quality of education being evidence-based, with the foundation being positive students/staff relationships. Leadership, innovation, wellbeing and evidence-based pedagogy are the core pillars to my educational philosophy, as my experience shows where these are present staff will be equipped with the to help young people thrive.
