Background

About Callum James

I am a diligent and analytical individual with a love for innovation, a strong work ethic and a passion for design and engineering. I am proud of my A-Level design project, where I created an innovative way of using a bicycle wheel as a tabletop for a sustainable wood table. However, my proudest achievement in school was fulfilling the role of Senior Prefect and Digital Leader, where I was also able to teach and guide younger students, and to highlight the importance of STEM subjects.I gained valuable industry experience with A.E. Meilak, a local carpenter and small business owner, obtaining insight into the principal aspects of design and project management from assessing viability through to budgeting, quality assurance checks and communication with clients. I also learned valuable skills of working independently and as part of a team. I additionally have caring responsibilities at home which have allowed me to develop my methods of communication, time management, and critical thinking skills, but most importantly the values of respect for and empathy with others.
