About Callum Morrison

Crop Production Extension Specialist in the Central Region of Manitoba, working out of the Carman Office. I am also a part time graduate student at the University of Manitoba under Dr. Yvonne Lawley. I have been researching how farmers on the Canadian Prairies and Ontario have been using cover crops through Cover Crop Surveys. I have enjoyed connecting with more than 1,300 farmers across four Canadian provinces for his research. These are the largest surveys of their kind in Canadian history. I grew up on Scotland’s east coast and completed a diploma and BSc in Agricultural Science at Scotland’s Rural College in Ayr during which I spent a summer at the University of Arkansas undertaking research for my undergraduate thesis on soil nematodes. I first moved to Manitoba in 2017 and worked on a rotationally grazed cattle farm and then a canola seed breeding company. In 2019, I graduated with an MSc in Sustainable Plant Health from the University of Edinburgh where I investigated the role of flagellum in blackleg infection of potato.
