About Calum Halcrow

I’ve always loved building things. This passion extended to software almost 30 years ago in my school’s computer lab. That early spark of curiosity eventually led me into the tech industry. I started as a web developer, captivated by the power of creating something accessible to anyone, anywhere. Over the years, I dove deeply into every layer of web applications—from frontend to backend and DevOps. As my career evolved, I discovered that the true craft of building great software goes beyond code. It lies in understanding people—how they interact with technology, what drives their needs, and how teams can work together effectively. This fascination led me to transition into leadership and engineering management roles, where I could focus on creating environments where teams thrive and build software that genuinely makes an impact. With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in building software products, leading high-performing engineering teams, and helping organizations improve their development processes to create truly impactful solutions. When I’m not knee-deep in solving complex team dynamics or refining software strategies, I’m exploring ways to help individuals and teams reach their full potential—whether through mentorship, thoughtful leadership, or simply having their back when it matters most. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat about how to make your software teams more innovative, efficient, or cohesive. I’d love to hear your story and explore how we might work together.
