A seasoned director with experience providing leadership in a broad range of business units, including; Business Continuity, Communications, Emergency Management, Investigations, Parking Services, and Public Safety (security). A strong advocate for the practical implementation of a customer service approach for security operations and the personal safety of staff and patrons with a view of safe and reliable services ensures a positive brand reputation. Extensive experience in public sector security and emergency management, building internal and external relationships with stakeholders, and project management. In-depth understanding and experience in dealing with mental health issues and illnesses acquired from a mental health nursing background. Calvin is recognized as a leader by his peers and is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and respect (demonstrating when leading diverse teams and working with various people served). Outside of teaching in the Police Foundations program, Calvin holds Instructor, Instructor Trainer, and Master Trainer certifications in many communication, de-escalation, defensive tactics, and self-defence programs. He keeps abreast of current issues and best practices in emergency management, security and police standards, and practices, coupled with training security, law enforcement, healthcare workers, and civilians.
