About Camelia Harb

I am currently in the final stages of my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and am completing my APA-accredited predoctoral internship in Health Service Psychology at the University of Virginia. I have previous experience in multiple community based mental health clinics and have served as an instructor of record for undergraduate courses on trauma, culture and mental health, and clinical psychology. Therapeutically, I enjoy working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and my clinical interests include interpersonal stressors, cultural identity issues, and trauma. Working from an integrative approach, I draw from cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and dialectic principles. My research interests focus on the use of patient centered and community based participatory practices to better understand and reduce mental health disparities amongst underserved and marginalized populations. My goal is to promote the use of culturally adapted and acceptable methods within psychology to ensure that the field continues to forward mental health practices that take into account individual and community informed perspectives.
