About Cameron Barrie

It is urban planners and policymakers who will shape the future of our nation's cities, networks and communities. I have a particular interest in the way in analysing how our cities function and operate, and discovering ways we can better design our land use, transit and infrastructure networks to be resilient and equitable in a rapidly changing climate. The change I strive for is to see policy, planning and people to combine. Collaborative policy development will harmonise information, data and human behaviours in a way that all stakeholders benefit in some way. By doing this we can avoid conflict between opposing parties, which is usually the biggest impediment to progress. Changes in built form often influence changes in the social, economic and environmental spheres, making sure that balance is achieved when a change is made means that all benefit from better data and policy in some way. By enabling change, we can realise our urban future and our responsibility in shaping societal progress, shared prosperity and environmental well-being.
