About Cameron Canepa

As a designer having worked on projects from retail and production to residential and commercial interiors, I have worked alongside a wide array of people in the design industry which has provided me with the opportunities to complete a diverse portfolio of projects. My passion and excitement is fueled by the day-to-day distinctions in each of my projects and how they have the ability to touch more than just the client and consumer. I have been working in the design industry since 2016 and have dipped my toes into several of it's fields. At ID Studios and MY studio ID, I have had the chance to work on both big and small commercial and hospitality projects, working 1-1 with clients, companies, and brands to bring their vision to life. I have also had the opportunity to work on the production side of design, working as a set design assistant with Living Spaces on several of their catalog and commercials. In 2020, I took a leap of faith and opened my own interior design firm, Studio Dérive, while simultaneously designing for other design firms. I have enjoyed the challenge and creating a new work/life balance. I am passionate about expressing myself through different outlets, one being podcasting. I have found that being the host of my podcast, Beyond The Basics, has allowed me to grow in the lifestyle, business, and design industries and even better grown my relationships with the guests I have interviewed. In my downtime, I find myself reading and exploring the world. Learning about other cultures by traveling and experiencing them first-hand can be so enlightening and helps me to bring new creative ideas to the table. I am also very passionate about overall wellness, sustainability, and having fun in the workplace.
