About Cameron Chisholm

I am an economist with strong training in quantitative methods and data analysis, and an experienced people and project manager. I have a passion for communicating what I've learned in economics to the layperson through the use of data, particularly data visualisation. I have worked with a number of self-professed 'data nerds' and have helped them get the most out of their skills.I am currently a Director at the Commonwealth Treasury, in the Business Microdata Unit.In my previous role at the Parliamentary Budget Office I specialised in personal income tax, superannuation and social welfare payments. I helped deliver election commitments costings for 2 elections, was active in client engagement with 2 oppositions and minor parties, and managed the delivery of a number of publications focused on budget transparency. I was heavily involved in self-initiated research, with a particular focus on personal tax, and enjoyed seeing my work quoted in the mainstream media.I previously worked at Grattan Institute between 2013 and 2018, where I was able to develop strong skills in policy analysis, written and verbal communication, data analytics and visualisation, and project management. Before then I completed a PhD in econometrics, where my thesis focused on trying to bridge the gap between theoretical and applied econometrics.Please feel free to reach out to me over LinkedIn.
