I'm not a major fan of the term SME, I fix issues, and create solutions, regardless of what they are (That includes the occasional broken vehicle / coffee machine!) As an exceptionally tenacious Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with over 16 years of experience in the Information Technology industry, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen to my work. My passion for CyberSecurity and deep understanding of infrastructure engineering, networking, on premise and cloud platforms (including Azure, AWS, and GCP) has helped me to consistently deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions for my clients. I am well-versed in a wide range of technologies, including Azure, AWS, GCP, Intune, Office 365, Unix, Windows, Mac, Cisco, FortiGate, Palo Alto, Microsoft Security Suite, web hosting, web development, CA infra, application packaging, patch management, hybrid and full cloud environments, along with many more. I enjoy the challenge of staying up-to-date with the latest developments in my field, and I am committed to using my skills to help organizations protect themselves against cyber threats and meet their business objectives, with that being said, if I don't know something, I'll always give it a good go and figure it out. In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, in particular diving, I’m currently training for technical diving and am looking forward to eventually being skilled enough to do a hypoxic cave dive, with some lengthy decompression procedures.(Rebreathers, Trimix is exceptionally expensive!) I’m also an instructor for Youth Search and Rescue Waikato, and finally I also volunteer in the harm reduction space for Know Your Stuff NZ. I also enjoy a bit of MMA, strongman, powerlifting, but it’s hard on the body, so I now stick to lighter weights and loads of swimming. I run ISIG (Information Security Interest Group) Hamilton and have a serious interest in information security with a focus on cryptography / DFIR. Looking to continue my professional growth and take on new challenges, I am eager to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations in the Information Technology industry.
