About Cameron Graybrook

When I first graduated from the University of Guelph with a BA in English, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Initially, I went into English to become a teacher, but I quickly realized that wasn't meant for me. Then I thought about being a high school guidance counsellor, but again, that didn't work out. I was a bit lost. I knew I wanted to go back to school for something, but what? I really enjoyed the creative aspect of the English program, so I knew I wanted that to be part of it, whatever "it" was. After searching through course catalogue after course catalogue, I finally found something that I never expected: marketing and public relations. It was perfect - I could use my English degree AND there was room to bring in my creative side. The Public Relations program at Durham College was intense - it was a fast-tracked program, meaning everything you're supposed to do in three years you do in two. It was challenging and exciting and exactly what I was looking for. After graduating, I mostly started seeking out volunteer opportunities to continue learning and developing my skills, which led me to another interest I have: community engagement. I love being able to apply everything I've learned and everything I'm passionate about to my daily life - whether that's through my job or my ongoing volunteer experiences. I hope to continue down this path of marketing, creativity, and community engagement for many years to come. My personal hobbies include brewing beer, watching movies, writing songs, personal finance, learning about and investing in the stock market, and playing board games.
