I am a mission-driven public health and emergency preparedness professional with a passion for protecting communities before, during, and after disaster strikes. As the Local Public Health & Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the St. Joseph County (IN) Department of Health, I co-lead and support the county’s critical efforts to plan for, respond to, and recover from public health threats and emergency incidents. I specialize in building countywide preparedness infrastructure, developing essential plans such as our All-Hazards Activation Plan, Infectious Disease Response Plan, and Continuity of Operations Plan. I serve as the 24/7 public health emergency contact, guiding response coordination in real time and ensuring alignment with the Indiana Department of Health and local Emergency Management Agency. At the heart of my work is a commitment to community-centered planning. Whether supporting the Emergency Support Function 8, running full-scale safety drills, or launching public campaigns on drowning and firearm safety, I work to ensure residents—especially those most at risk—have access to clear information, safe services, and rapid response systems when it matters most. I thrive in dynamic environments, bring clarity under pressure, and take pride in transforming preparedness plans into lifesaving action.
