Background

About Cameron Huftalen

Most recently my work as a project manager has been to design, implement, and evaluate projects with grassroots networks of community partners, in areas including agriculture and food systems, climate, economics, and health. Prior to my current portfolio, I coordinated a regional branch of a statewide food access initiative bringing together farmers and local restaurants to provide prepared meals to food access points in the community. My academic background includes degrees in both History and European studies at Bates College and a minor concentration in an intentionally decolonized methodology of archaeology with accompanying independent research and presentation work. I have a passion for taking messages and initiatives I believe in and making them interesting and accessible to diverse audiences to promote effective social change. Most recently I have been working in sustainable agriculture and local food, but my interests and past experiences cover a wide range of work including private peer mentoring, facilitating educational trainings, events management, research, museum and collections work, and creative and informative storytelling both in print and with multimedia components.
