About Cameron Ives

I manage a global team that has conceived, created and continues to expand a cloud-native Data Analytics Platform. We handle data from any and all parts of the company (research, manufacturing, product line, sales, commercial, web analytics etc). Our platform enables cutting edge data science and analytics using the latest cloud-native tools at "big data" scale. We acquire our data (and related metadata) using kafka streaming and various cloud-native ETL tools (e.g. Amazon Step Functions). Once the data is in our platform, we interconnect it using awesome Neo4j graph database technology, we transform the data using AWS data analytics tools and then we make it available to our end users using still more AWS cloud native services including Amazon's Lake Formation service. We use the search service "Elasticsearch" to provide searching of our data for our internal and external users. We are constantly building out and expanding our Data Analytics Platform to accommodate the growing number of data handling requests we receive. We are always in search of new, innovative cloud services to help us better serve our customers. This means there is always something new to investigate! We typically deliver data to our end users using custom web applications that we create (graph-based UIs and otherwise), BI dashboards and various data APIs (SQL, REST etc) for our many customers who prefer self service. Because much of the technology we have chosen is new and disruptive to "traditional" operations, we engage in many proof-of-concepts with the goal of demonstrating the "Art of the Possible". The group also spends a lot of time evangelizing data science, analytics and the cutting edge cloud tools we have chosen to enable these critical strategies.
