About Cameron Murphy

I’m an urban planner serving the communities of Orleans County, New York, where I support local planning boards, land use policy, comprehensive planning, and GIS-based decision-making. Originally from Huntington Beach, California, I served in the U.S. Coast Guard before beginning my career in planning. My service brought me to Buffalo, NY, where I established my career in the field. I hold dual bachelor’s degrees in Urban Planning and Geography from Buffalo State University, along with a GIS certificate, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Geography with a GIS concentration at Arizona State University. My academic and professional background has given me strong experience in spatial analysis, land use planning, and community engagement. I am particularly focused on leveraging data, mapping, and practical policy tools to support sustainable and equitable growth in small towns and rural areas. Whether facilitating public input, drafting long-range plans, or modernizing local zoning, I strive to bring both clarity and creativity to the planning process.
