About Cameron Newkirk

I am a Corporate Safety Manager in the construction field, focusing on implementing and maintaining safety management systems while monitoring leading indicators through site inspections, training evaluations, and culture surveying. I specialize in customer relations, working closely with customer safety departments to generate project specific safety plans, communicating with project management to determine future safety concerns and sequence of construction activities, and conducting incident investigations to provide thorough root cause analyses and corrective actions. I hold COSS and COSM certifications through the Alliance Safety Council, along with trainer certifications for First Aid/CPR and Telehandler/MEWP operations. I am also an Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor for the construction industry. I am involved in committees around the state of Michigan to expand my knowledge and offer my expertise to other safety professionals in the field. These committees include the AGC of Michigan Safety Committee and the Michigan Safety Conference Awards Committee. I have also presented at Captive Resources National Risk Control Workshops on various topics related to the advancement of the safety field and participate in construction breakout committees and panels to help facilitate shared learnings between companies from around the country. I am also heavily involved in Special Olympics Michigan where I serve on the State Medical Team and coach in my local area for numerous sports. I have an amazing wife and two daughters who help support me in everything I am involved in.
