About Cameron Ross

My background is in writing (I have a bachelor of Arts degree in English literature), communication, research, analysis and editing. I have been – among other things – The Canberra Times’s chief leader writer, its opinion editor, letters editor and features editor, and have researched and written on hundreds of different topics. I’ve initiated and delivered on a range of internal and external communications strategies, as well. My skills include the ability to quickly research, analyze and absorb complex issues, and to write about these in clear, assessable language, and to plan effective and engaging media strategies. I’ve also good influencing/negotiating/communication skills, having built and maintained a network of contacts in government, the Public Service, and academia. My corporate knowledge of Canberra politics (both Territory and Commonwealth) is extensive, and I’m politically savvy as well as discreet. I hope to be able to make use of these skills in a writing, editing, research, advocacy or communications role, whether contract or on-going.
