About Cameron Saffle

My culinary obsession can be traced all the way back to my roots. I grew up in the pacific northwest, meaning I spent an absurd amount of time outdoors. My childhood in Washington gave me an extraordinary appreciation for nature and inherently its countless delicacies that it has to offer. I was super lucky to have a family that encouraged creativity in meal planning and adventurous eating. As I entered my college years, nothing could have been more fortuitous for me than landing at Cal Berkeley. At Berkeley, the melting pot of cultures expanded my perspectives on a plethora of different fields, disciplines, cuisines and cultures. Berkeley was a place where I was able to start honing my cooking abilities, and it was a place that also propelled me to become an actor, voice-over artist and producer. I am forever grateful for those formative years. The people that I have met through my journey and growth have enlightened me on how food and experiences around it create lasting memories of connection. I get food sustains us-but it also can bring us joy, comfort, and can serve as a catalyst for understanding and empathy.
