About Cameron Schaefer

A great deal of my professional experience falls into the volunteer and service work categories, but carries over into the work and leadership fields as well. I hold a long-standing volunteer position for the USTA Boys’ 16s/18s Nationals tennis tournament in August. Furthermore, I have volunteered on several occasions for the annual Girls on the Run 5k event. Upon starting college at Appalachian State University, I have been a participant on and have now led what is called an Alternative Service Experience. ASE is a service-learning program that focuses on working alongside community members, usually with a nonprofit, to complete various tasks and engage in both cultural and educational experiences. Additionally, I volunteer for Western Youth Network as a Youth Mentor for a local child living near or in Boone, NC where I meet with my mentee once a week for 2-4 hours and engage in healthy activity and conversation.
