About Cameron Sheehan

I am a Senior Consultant in Sustainable Transport at Ricardo Energy & Environment - helping to assess, design and implement the most effective strategies, policies and technical solutions to make transport systems more sustainable, safer and smarter. I specialise in e-mobility and energy system modelling, with previous research experience at Imperial College London working on techno-economic modelling and optimisation of battery swapping and charging infrastructure for electric two- and three-wheelers in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of the ChargeUp! project. My research also involved analysing vehicle and battery telematics data to assess energy usage, emissions from charging, infrastructure location optimisation and other related impacts and factors. I was also involved in reviewing e-mobility policies and regulations, and attending and presenting research outcomes to technical working groups involving stakeholders from the public and private sectors. Prior to consulting and research, I worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the manufacturing industry in Cape Town, South Africa. As Head of Engineering, I led a team of design engineers working on stainless steel products for international clients in the pressure vessel, road tanker and tank container industries. I am an Imperial College London Postgraduate alumnus. I graduated with distinction and the award for Best Overall Performance in the MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures programme (2019-2020).
