About Cameron Smith

I'm an award nominated artist that has had the pleasure of working on projects big and large. As a veteran of many projects at Weta Digital, I've served as a composting lead and supervisor on a number of films including Avatar (for which I was nominated for a Visual Effects Society award), Alita: Battle Angel, Gemini Man, King Kong, Iron Man 3, Tintin and The Walt Disney Pictures Logo. I've spent time broadening my skill set as a Lighting Technical Director on projects such as The Hobbit, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Furious 7 and The Jungle Book. Outside of Weta I supervised the visual effects of the award nominated horror film Blood Vessel, and been experimenting with hybrid and virtual production methodologies using Unreal Engine. Prior to feature film work I worked on numerous short films and TV commercials in Australia. Specialties: High level feature film compositing in Nuke and related tools; supervision on a show and sequence level; on-set supervision; a good understanding of digital lighting; a keen interest in photography, particularly event and on-set production photos; and much more!
