My educator mission statement revolves around making sure I can assist students’ learning in any way possible. To me, learning is not just an outcome but a process of growth- whether it revolves around content, skills such as reading and writing, or social emotional skills. I believe that learning looks like students engaging in the content or skills they are being introduced to. I believe in treating a student holistically, focusing on social emotional growth and academic skills. I have professional experience teaching students from grades 5th-12th. I taught science, coding, and social studies in various schools in Milwaukee, WI and currently teach humanities at The Sycamore School in Arlington, VA. I have experience working with students who have different learning differences and students who come from a background of trauma. I focus on using project-based, interdisciplinary pedagogy with my students.
