As a graduating senior at the University of Maryland, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Criminology and Criminal Justice, with a keen interest in Family Law and Health Care Law. My academic background has equipped me with critical thinking, analytical, and ethical skills that I apply in my professional roles as an advocate.I am currently a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for neglected and abused children, where I examine records, conduct interviews, and support clients in court hearings, addressing their inquiries and advocating for their best interests. I am also a Student Advocate at the Student Legal Aid office, where I offer tailored guidance and representation to students facing university disciplinary proceedings, presenting their cases before conduct boards and securing optimal outcomes. Through these experiences, I have honed my skills in management, legal advice, and customer service, as well as my passion for advocating for those in vulnerable situations.As I prepare for a gap year before law school, I am excited to explore opportunities in the paralegal field, where I can leverage my diverse experiences and skills to make a meaningful impact. I am driven by the values of justice, compassion, and empowerment, and I am eager to learn from and contribute to a dynamic and collaborative legal team. I am looking forward to the next chapter of my professional journey, where I can continue to pursue my goals and make a difference in the lives of others.In my spare time, I enjoy painting, caring for my pets, and reading thriller novels.
