About Candace Nelson

I am currently a Senior Manufacturing Manager at Caterpillar focused on lean operations, project management and aligning metrics to expanding operations. Working on end to end value stream efficiencies, I help to develop teams to drive to targets and allow for greater ability to adjust to customer demand cycles. I am a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from 3M where I focused on our global Enterprise Operations. As a black belt, I used tools and methodologies to enhance our business, service and financial performance by systematically streamlining our processes to drive end to end excellence. I led and supported projects that had a high impact on business results, teach and supported green belts and tracked projects to ensure sustained improvements. I have engineering project management experience from 3M where I managed capital equipment installations with multi-disciplinary teams. I also have a foundation in process engineering supporting manufacturing equipment, product quality and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. I currently serve on the board of a non-profit, Food for Hungry Minds, which operates in the Philippines. I am recognized as a people leader with the drive the develop and inspire high-performing teams within manufacturing, engineering and lean six sigma. As a coach for endurance athletes, I am well-versed in working with many personalities and making sure that my clients show up to events as the best version of themselves based on the cards that life has dealt them.
